The village is listed in the Venetian census of 1583 by Kastrophylakas as Callamicia et Alexandrocori with 166 inhabitants. Vasilikata mentions it in 1630 as Calamici Allissandro. In the Egyptian census of 1834, only Kalamitsi is mentioned, without specifying Alexandrou or Amygdali, with 45 Christian and 4 Muslim families.
