The village is mentioned by Francesco Barozzi in 1577 as Xerosterni in the province of Apokoronou. In the Venetian census of 1583 from Kastrophylaka it is wrongly mentioned as Xerofori with 203 inhabitants and as Xerostergni with 8 dues and 25 privileged. Vasilikata mentions it in 1630 as Xerosterni. In the Egyptian census of 1834, the village is listed together with the villages of Drapanos, Kefalas, Vouri, Selia and Likotinara where a total of 300 Christian and 25 Muslim families lived.
